Champion Pro Soccer was founded by current professional footballer Tom Champion. Tom's journey to the professional game was by no means ordinary. Although he spent time training in a professional academy with Watford FC as a schoolboy, he was never offered an apprenticeship and instead completed his education through the school system, playing at County level and National level with England Schoolboys U18s along the way. Upon leaving school Tom signed his first professional contract with his local club Barnet FC. After his first taste of professional football with Barnet and, having enjoyed a promotion winning season back to the Football League, Tom was later released at the age of 18 and found himself without a club and questioning his dream. At this point there was a crucial decision to make, pursue a career in football in sacrifice of all other options, or go to University in search of further education and a step into the real world. Tom chose University.

"As I did not go through the professional academy set up during my school years, I did not have access to professional standards of coaching. I craved this at a young age in order to allow me to fulfil my maximum potential. But as I went a different route, I missed out. I passionately believe that all players in their developmental years should have easy access to affordable high quality coaching that will harness and nurture their natural ability. This is the driving force behind establishing Champion Pro Soccer. I want to provide opportunities for all players, whatever level of football they are playing at, who wish to improve their natural ability by providing a fun, engaging and professional learning environment".

"It took me 8 years but I eventually made my way back to professional football having been to University, gone into full time employment and played semi-professionally during that time. I am living proof that opportunities to make a professional career can come later in life. However, I have no doubts that my opportunities would have been made far greater with high standards of coaching at an early age. My ambition with Champion Pro Soccer is to offer this opportunity to the next generation by creating a coaching programme which brings out the best in each and every individual, no matter what their aspirations in life may be.
